During and immediately following the first World War, advertisers in Germany presented romantic elegance in a manner that bridged the sinuous lines of Art Nouveau and the hard lines of Art Deco, to achieve a unique style that has remained a pinnacle of graphic design for more than a century!
Josef Fenneker was the foremost film poster artist in Weimar Berlin, and the in-house artist for legendary Expressionist theater Marmorhaus. In Totentanz, a very early Fritz Lang script, Sascha Guru uses her feminine wiles to lure men to their deaths in a labyrinth beneath the house of her crippled, evil lover.
