Austrian Art Nouveau vase featuring a maiden standing at the base of a tree, drinking from a leaf, with gentle shades of green and blue. An excellent example of the "ivory porcelain" ceramic material being used by producers in the Turn-Teplitz area. Designed by Ernst Wahliss in the late 19th Century, stamped "Made in Austria" and numbered.
Already well established throughout Europe as a retailer of porcelain goods, in 1894 Ernst Wahliss took over production at the Stellmacher factory in Turn-Teplitz and began creating decorative ceramics under the name “Ernst Wahliss Kunst, Porzellan, und Fayence Fabrik.”
