When I received Le Pater I looked through it twice just to look at the pictures. Now I am reading through for the second time. This is a beautiful well-made book and I will appreciate it for a long long time.
Utterly stunning in execution and content, purchased as a gift that was incredibly well received. A work to savor, it will have a place of honor on the bookshelf... as soon as a shelf can be found to hold its size.
Beautiful book, I need to spend more time with it because it appears to have great depth, it’s much more than a Mucha picture book. Thomas Negovan’s writing about symbolism is very interesting and I look forward to having a better understanding of the entire Art Nouveau movement.
Very happy with my purchase. The book is excellent, from the cover to image to quality on each page. You can tell this was put together from a place of love and admiration for Mucha's work. 10/10 will be buying more books from Century Guild in the future.
My husband is a huge Mucha fan and loves learning more about him and his work. I preordered this book for him and we were delighted to open it. The packaging was lovely and thoughtful and included a signed note from Mr. Negovan. The book itself is a masterpiece! Each page is perfectly printed. The explanations and essays are well written from a high level historical and art historical perspective. This book is a compendium of Alphonse Mucha and a must for any fan.
Stunning. Beautiful quality print, really interesting works that I haven’t seen before, lots of context.
I would have liked to be able to see the original formatting of Mucha’s book the way it was originally printed, with the sketches and supporting content after. But I’m not complaining.
